Therapy for thoughtful people navigating anxiety, neurodiversity and identity
Hello, I’m Katie Sands
I'm an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor specialising in Transactional Analysis.
I offer a warm, grounded space where all parts of you are welcome; including the ones that feel hard to reach or difficult to name.
Clients often describe feeling deeply connected in our work together.
With curiosity and care, we reflect on who you are, where you’ve been, and what you need now.
My approach is relational and shaped by your unique story and the therapeutic relationship we build.
I believe meaningful change happens through connection, feeling seen, understood and met consistently over time.
I do not believe in blocking or 'fixing' emotions.
I believe in hearing them, understanding what sits beneath them and finally, learning how to live alongside them in a way that feels more manageable and less overwhelming.

Flexible therapy options: indoor, online and outdoor sessions which may include the calming presence of dogs
Mum to Iris, dachshund lover, and someone who finds grounding in nature

WELCOME
Alongside my professional role, I am a mum of one small and mighty girl, and dogs (amongst some other pets) are firmly part of our family.
Being a dachshund parent calls for patience, consistency, humour, and the capacity to sit with big emotions; allowing them to be expressed and heard rather than rushed or silenced. These are qualities I value deeply in both life and therapy.
With lived experience of adoption and ADHD, I care deeply about trauma and neurodiversity, while always holding your experience as distinct and personal.
I hold an awareness of how early experiences and wider systems can influence us, though we explore this only if and when it feels right for you.
